Overview

Redesign project for Rihla website a Hajj and Umrah travel booking requested by a client aiming to modernize the platform and improve usability. The previous version was cluttered and confusing, especially during package selection and checkout. I led the UX audit and redesigned the site architecture to create a smoother, mobile-friendly booking experience. Design Revamp Across All Pages

Design Goals:
To meet client communication needs while improving clarity, discoverability, and engagement.

Navigation and search inputs are visually grouped.
Stronger header presence with user-centered CTA: “Where will you adventure today?”

New sections added for promotions, packages, and testimonials.
Each block serves a specific user goal or client objective.

✅ Informative Visual Cards

Cards now show images, prices, ratings, and quick actions (e.g. wishlist icon).
Helps users scan and compare efficiently.

✅ Optimized Spacing and Flow

Compact layout encourages exploration.
Visual rhythm feels more consistent and complete.

Outcomes & Lessons Learned

The redesigned homepage successfully improved content clarity across all pages, leading to better user engagement, especially with promotional and bundled package sections. Navigation became more intuitive, reducing hesitation and making it easier for users to complete transactions. From this process, we learned that using familiar design patterns is not a weakness — it's a strength that helps users feel instantly comfortable. Proper spacing and a clear content hierarchy play a crucial role in guiding user attention and minimizing confusion. While visual uniqueness can be appealing, users consistently prioritize clarity and ease of use. By maintaining a consistent and familiar interface throughout the site, we were able to create a smoother and more trustworthy experience that ultimately supports user satisfaction and conversion.
